"On Sunday afternoon, Mrs. Mary wife of Capt. Samuel Penington passed quietly out of the world. Both of these ladies (Mrs. Marg. Chamberlain) had been great suffers for many months and their deaths though a severe grievance to their family and friends was a relief to them from most intense pain and suffering."

Hi All,
The Revolutionary Patriots of MD and DE. 1775-1783, by Henry C. Peden Jr.Family Line Pub. 1995 - Pg. 211 makes reference to:Alkey Pennington (1760 - February 14, 1800, aged 40.) Buried in St. Ann's Cemetery at Middleton, Ref: DE. Tombstone Inscriptions: 700 Revolutionary Soldiers in Three Counties (St. Michael's, MD: by Raymond B. Clark Jr.).This source does not mention his service and he is not listed in References: DE Military Archives, Vol. 1 or Vol. 2, or Vol. 3.
Has anyone been able to find a military record for Atkey? I believe this is Group 9's Atkey Pennington because the dates are almost to the day.It is possible that he was not a Revolutionary soldier and this is just a misprint? Pennington Puzzle
