[5723] Middletown Transcript 6/29/1912 Mrs Mary Tumlin Cochran widow of the late ex Governor John P Cochran died at 1:45 o'clock Wednesday afternoon after several months illness at her home on West Main Street. Mrs Cochran was in the 83rd year of her age. She was the daughter of James and Mary C Tumlin and was born November 3 1830 near St Georges. She was married January 6th 1858 being the second wife of ex-Governor Cochran. She leaves no children, but one devoted sister Miss Caroline Tumlin, who made her home here; two nephews George Tumlin who lives at Clayton and Frank Tumlin who lives at Farmington. She also leaves a sister in law a resident of Farnington to mourn her heath. She was a most amiable lady and her death has caused much sorrow to her many friends. Funeral services were held at ther late residence Friday afternoon at Three o'clock and interment was made in Forest cemetery."
