Joseph Grafton: was a Salem sea captain and merchant who had a ketch of forty tons which on May 17, 1640 made a voyage to Pemaquid and brought back some twenty cows, oxen with hay and water for them to the bay. Later, Grafton got mixed up in the LaTour - D'Aulnay controvery, losing his ship. He settled in Salem by 1636. He left a considerable estate and shares in several vessels at his death.

1632 -1654: Starts again of Acadie



1632: Return of Acadie to France

March 29, 1632, by the treaty of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, England gives Acadie to France.

The Cardinal of Richelieu, under the King Louis XIII, organizes two companies: for Quebec and the other for Acadie.

Louis XIII names Charles of the Tower governor of Acadie. Richelieu decides to establish a solid colony. It names
Lieutenant-General in all the country of News-France says Canada and Gouverneur of Acadie.

Isaac de Razilly, cousin of Richelieu, originating in Tourraine, a knight about Malta, come to start again the acadian
colony with three hundred " men of elites "

September 8, 1632, they were established in Hève (Cuts It) and not with Port-Royal, the place known under the
name of Pointe Of the Fort has.

It goes then has Royal Port and seizes by the force Pentagoet (Penobscot, Maine, the USA)

Razilly grants has Latour Seigneury de Jemseg, located on the Midsummer's Day River. Latour built there Strong
Jemseg.

With Isaac Razilly had come with Charles de Menou de Charnisay, Sieur D' Aulnay and Nicolas Denys, wire and
