"Essex His. Col."51-126. 59- , 64-80

Crowninshields. Essex His. Col. 51.

I think there was a group of Quakers who were violent in their non-conformist beliefs. I seem to remember a Mary DYER who was banished to an island in Boston Harbor for her proseltyzing. The Puritans (as opposed
to the Pilgrims) from the Bay Colony were a lot less forgiving of people like the Baptists (Roger Williams) and Quakers than those in the Plimouth of publications addressing how the Puritans dealt with dissent - and the
Quakers were certainly dissenters. Would they have called Capt John KITCHEN a "violent Quaker non-conformist". If he was urging people not to be Congregationalists (Puritan) then I'm sure they called him that and worse!
Massey Collection notes: Gertrude Scott Hall, "Some Paternal Ancestral Lines of Samuel Warren Hall II 1951 pp 121, 122, 123, 124.Age 21, listed a servant to Zackary Bickwell out of Weymouth Eng., Mar 20 1635 Shoemaker of Salem, was made a preprietor in 1640.
