[12413] They lived near Silver Run for some years where he was a tailor. He had been born in Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany. In the late 1850's the family moved to a place a few miles north of Littlestown called Frog Town where they established a dry goods and grocery store business. Their store was on the main road between Littlestown and Gettysburg, and a mile or two south of Two Taverns. They retired in the 1870's and the business was then continued by their only child.
