1819/Jan 13 V3 p 207 Ashbury Sutton Pennington of Muskingum Co Ohio and wife Jane sells land to Leonard Vandergrift that was left to him in father's (Atkey) will. Land bound by Collins,Hanson,Patrick Mc Conaugh, Simms. His brother Lewis E is born in DE abt 1816. Ashbury Sutton and Jane Eves are married 1815. Most share a common grave in St Ann's Churchyard DE. This deed also confirms that the Hester Ann Pennington is decd and without issue.

He volunteered at Wilmington and was discharged at Wilmington. He never received a written or printed discharge . Bounty land certificate is to be sent to Ashbury at No 154 Market St Wilm DE. Receives 80 acres Aug 7 1855.
