1919, Nov 22 Middletown Transcript:"Mr. Ashbury Sutton Pennington died in Philadelphia on Monday, Nov. 17th age 73 years. Mr. Pennington and his estimable wife and two daughters were for a number of years residents in Middletown, and their many friends here share with them the sorrow of their loss of husband and father. Mr Pennington was for years closely associated in Philadelphia with Dr. S Weir Mitchell, the noted expert in nervous diseases, as a masseur and nurse and became quit expert in such matters. His kindness of heart, his jovial disposition, and ready wit made him a great favorite with all who knew him when living here. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o clock at his late home 4069 Spring Garden Street."
