1860 Census Lewis E is 46 Farmer 16,000 born in DE.
There are ads in the Middletown Transcript for the Penington Reaper (Penington Brothers)? June 19,1875 "The Penington reaper is being largely manufactured this Spring, and an unusual large amount of repairing has caused the firm, W. H. Barr & Co to put on more force to meet the additional demand upon them."
1868 R8 130 Lewis E and wife Jane C, Albert R and Elizabeth all of Philadelphia sell Dragon Neck Rd Farm to Benjamin F Pennington for $10,000. The deed mentions the connection of the father Ashbury S Pennington decd. land and his heirs Lewis E, Albert R, and Benj F. Pennington.
1898/Oct, 8: "Louis Eves Pennington. Mr Pennington was a nephew of Mr Ashberry Pennington who is well known here and is the last of the older heads of the family. He was 82 year old and died at his residence 219 De Kalb Square, Philadelphia. He resided here 45 years ago Interment was head in St. Anne's Cemetrey on Friday afternoon, services having been held at the Philadelphia home." MT T
