11/18/1922 Middletown Transcript: "After an illness covering a period of several months Mrs. Kate P Crouch, widow of the late John S. Crouch died at her home in Wilmington Sunday evening aged 69 years. The news of Mrs. Crouch's death was a great shock to her relatives and friends in Middletown, where previous to a few years ago she had spent her entire life.
Mrs. Crouch was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Pennington and leaves to mourn her death one daughter, three sons, one sister, and her brother. Her children are Fred S. Crouch clerk in the Recorder of Deeds office Wilmington; Norman P. Crouch Register in Chancery and Clerk of the Orphans Court; John R Crouch who resided at home with his mother and Mrs. William Collins of Landenburg, PA . Mr Frank J Penington of this town is a brother and Mrs. Frank C. West of Wilmington is a sister of the deceased.
The remains were brought to the home of her son Mr Norman P Crouch in this town where funeral services were conducted by the Rev P L Donaghay Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock and interment was made in the family burial lot at Forest cemetery.
