His not featured on the Penington Chart of 1550-1859 because he was born in 1861. He was the youngest son of Captain Samuel. Their names appear together in the 1891 Directory as running a store in Middletown called "S. Pennington and Sons".
His obituary in the Middletown Transcript reads:
"He died at his residence near Armstrong Corners (probably the farm now called Lone Manor Farm on Choptank Road), in his 40th year after an illness of several weeks of typhoid fever. He was a resident of Middletown all his life previous to engaging in farming about 4 years before his death.
For several years he was engaged in the mercantile business at the corner of Main and Broad streets, Mr. Pennington possessed a quite retiring disposition, and was a devoted husband and father, and had many friends. He leaves behind a wife and one son about 8 year old to mourn his death, also four sisters and one brother; Mrs. Ella Cochran, Mrs. J S Crouch, of this town, Mrs. F C West, of Wilmington, Mrs. Cora Reynolds of Valentine, Texas, and Mr. J Frank Penington, of near Odessa.---was committed to mother earth in Forest Cemetery. The pall-bearers were Dr. J C Stites, James L Warren, Alfred M Chamberlaine, George G Rowe, J Harry Rhodes and T Edgar Clayton."
[He must have moved into his father's home to take care of the farm two years before his dad died and then he died just 2 years after his father Captain Samuel. He probably inherited the "Lone Manor Farm".]
