Ruth:
First of all, thanks for the quick response.
In the Maryland Historical Society there is a Reed Family Bible. This Bible records the Marriage of an Emory Reed to Sarah Ann Voshel on 12 July
1831. This is too much of a co-incidence, don't you think? Your Sally is my Sarah! She married Vincent Lee on 23 October 1866. Vincent died on 30
December 1866.
This Vincent is a mystery to me as to where he came from, other than my finding him in Queen Anne's County in the 1850 census. My aunt and
grandmother both mentioned on more than one occasion that he was related to Robert E. Lee. I have no illusions as to that tie, but it would be nice if I
could go back some more in his lineage. He married (1st) Elizabeth Jane Lowman (who's line goes back to Augustine Herman, among others.
Genealogy is surely fascinating, but frustrating as well.
What do you think?
