This David donates land for the Presbyterian in his will, built next to the brick dwelling house on Steward Street Port Penn, DE. He also donates the land across the street for the use of the town for the market place.
Will signed Jan 15 1792 gives specific detail for the land set aside near Port Penn for the Family burial plot, including the wall and maintenance and the guardianship of responsibility.
This probable is the graveyard photographed with the men constructing the wall featured in the Port Penn Yesterday Book. Photo housed at the Port Penn Schoolhouse interpretive center.
Scharf's p 471 lists David Steward as a doctor serving in the Delaware regiment in the Revolutionary War.
Schraf's p 1011, "At Port Penn in 1822 there were five hotels. One was where Dr. David Stewart now resides."

Orphan court documents for March 25 1869 mentions a widow Elizabeth and seven children: James B, Susan Johnson (Henry), Joseph J, John J, Mary, Obediah, Jonathan J.[there are probably two marrages here. Two grown children at time of probate one daughter married, then young children in orphan court.]

Obediah Voshall probate 1869 Dover. Date header of 1887-1891 is wrong. The will is signed March 20, 1869 and witness at court March 23, 1869. He wanted to be buried at Thomas Chapel. [No stone exists there] Jonathan Voshell is executor and finally settlement is 4/1888. There was a long list of debts. Lists the five children Samuel, Joseph J, John J, Mary, Obadiah, Jonathan. On the inventory list J D Voshall, James Voshall, John D Voshall. In the records for this file (OB 1869) is another Obadiah Voshall makes a oath that the estate of Ob Voshell is finallized Jan 16 1891. [this is probably the estate of Obadiah who died 11/17/1887 Odd Fellow's, Camden. Widow Annie Cloudwight Voshell later weds John D Voshell in 1893}
Early records of James list a son Obediah born around 1790 confusion on this placement in the family group.
