He was the manager and operator of an American Oil Co Service Station located at the corner of Baltimore St and Mt Royal Ave. for some 29 years. Helping in the operation of it was a cousin also of Hanover- Elmer I bankert. He was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Ch like his parents and his home was furnished with a number of beautiful antique furniture pieces.
