[10002] he had a distinguished career as a clergyman in the Episcopal Church and then as a teacher; graduated from both Gettysburg College and Gettysburg Seminary; attended Christ Church College and Mansfield College of Oxford University in England; was then ordained in the Episcopal Church as a deacon on June 19 1923 and as a priest on Dec 12 1923 in Baltimore MD. His ministry was served in a number of parishes in Brooklin and Long Island NY then Clifton NJ and finally Baltimore MD. He had also taught philosophy and public speaking at the University of Baltimore
