PRA notes
He was married to Elizabeth Drake (daughter of William Drake) in December 1708 in St. Stephen's Parish, Cecil Co., MD. Elizabeth Drake died about 1744 in MD. Henry Pennington and Elizabeth Drake had the following children:
+32 i. William Pennington (born on February 7, 1708/9).
+33 ii. Henry Pennington Jr. (born on August 10, 1712).
+34 iii. Thomas Pennington (born on October 28, 1714).
+35 iv. Margaret Pennington (born on May 7, 1718).
The will of Henry Penington BB p 67: " In the Name of God Amen I Henry Penington Senior of Cecil County in the Providence of Maryland Planter being Sick and Weak of Body but of Sound and Disposing mind and memory Praise be to Almighty God therefore, do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament, in manner and from following (that is to say) first and Principally I Recommend my Soule unto The hands of almighty hoping thru the merits of Christ Jesus Our Savior to have Pardon and forgiveness for all my Sins and Inherit Everlasting Life and my body I commit to the Earth to be Decently buried at the Discretion of my Executor here after mentioned and as Touching the Disposition of Such Worldly Estate as hath Pleased Almighty God to Bestow on me I give and Dispose of as followeth Viz:
Imorinis First I Will and Bequeath that my Just Debts and Funeral Charges be Paid and Discharged---
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Eldest Son William Penington one Shilling in Silver or Gold and no more, that with What I have already given him do Deem it to be his Share or Moiety of my Estate---
Item I Give unto my Son Henry Penington one Shilling in Silver of Gold and no more that With What I have Already given him do deem To be his Share or moiety of my Estate-----
Item, I give unto my Son Thomas Penington One Shilling in Silver or Gold no more that with what I have already given him do deem to be his share or moiety of my Estate---
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Son in Law John Penington and Margtt (?) his Wife all my Right Title claim Interest Property and Demand Whatsoever in and unto a certain tract of Land lying and Being in Cecil County on Sassafras River called and known by the Name of Happy Harbor, together With all the Improvements thereon to them and their heirs and Assigns forever-----
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Son in Law John Penington and Margarett and his Wife all the Residue of my Estate both Real and Personal to them and their Heirs and Assigns for Ever-----
And Lastly I do hereby nominate Constitute appoint and Ordain my Dutiful Son in Law John Penington to be my Whole and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby Revoking all former Wills by me made or done In Witness Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seale this Twenty first day of January One Thousand and Seven hundred and forty-foure."
