[10997] He was a carpenter and farmer, and seems to have lived at first in the area of Union Mills, but later in life in the area of Pleasant Valley. On May 19, 1831 he purchased the home place of his grandfather , John Jacob Bankert, JR. who had died in 1824. The transaction was part of the estate settlement being handled by the executor who was his uncle Peter Bankert, and it can be found in Frederick in Deed Book JS 36 page 207. In the write-up of the transaction it is mentioned that Peter Bankert is the son of the late Jacob Bankert. Isaac, in turn was later he executor of his mother's estate.
