[5635] Met her husband first as bridesmaid and groonsman at the marriage of Dr. Dale and Auntie's life-long friend, Margaret Fitzgerald. Mr. Darragh , though a frienmd of Dr Dale was not acquainted with his bride, and when introduced, mistook Margaret Stewart for Margaret Fitzgerald. Very soon he felt that he "could not see her married to another", was inexoressibly relieved to meet her again dressed only as an attendant. He lived but a few years. In 1827, their only son, a promising and very lovely youth of eighteen years, died suddenly. Aunty Darragh seemed crushed by this blow. It is said that she secluded herself, refusing to be comforted, until a clergyman, visiting her, simply said, "Mrs. Darragh are you not willing that God should rule His own world?" She left her darkened chamber, resumed her duties and regained the lovely Christian cheerfulneess which so characterized her.
