Frank as he was always called, was born near Catoctin Furnace, in Frederick Co MD and was brought here as a child when the family moved to the Littlestown area. He spent his entire life in that town and community. When he married Mrs. Hann the wedding was performed in the house on East King Street in Littlestown where she as born (her mother died when she was six monthes old). and in which house she continued to live after marriage till after her husband died. She then left it to live with her son in Chester, PA.
Both were life long members of St Paul's Lutheran Church in Littlestown, were active in the various departments of the church and both sang on the church choir. He first worked as a carpenter then was emploped for many years as a master mechanic by the Hanover Traction Co and lastly he worked as a house painter.
When they celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on Nov 1 1938 one of the gifts they received was a case containing the famous "Heinz Fifty Seven" varieties from the Heinz Co in Pittsburgh. At that time it was the custom of that company to seek out couples who were going to celebrate fifty seven years of married life and present this gift to them. Frank died in his hone in Littlestown at the age of 91; his wife laura died at the home of her son in Chester at the age of 83.
