He went to Chester PA to work around the time of WWI, married a local girl and lived there the rest of his life. His wife was a well educated person who had a 30 year career in Journalism which included staff work for the Phila Evening Bulletin and Chester's own Daily Times. She was also well known for her social, civic and charitable work in community affairs and received numerous honors for it.
The couple had three daughters. The family suffered a tragedy on Sunday Sept 2 1934 while they were spending the weekend on the beach at Ocean City MD near the new Sinepauxent Inlet. Around 1 am a gasoline stove Mrs. Hann was using to heat milk for the infant twins exploded and enveloped their tent in flames. Nearby tourists came to their aid, and the family was taken to Peninsula General Hospital at nearby Salisbury, MD and treated for sever burns. However one twin Barbara and the oldest girl Mary Elizabeth died from burns the full story can be found on page 1 of the Hanover Evening Sun of Sept 5 1934.
