Rebecca C Voshell 1920 notes-- two sons Robert Bryan 1872 and Wm Henry Bryan
Hi Ruth,
You have an attractive and usable web site. I have a question about one of the people who appear on your site.
However first let me back up and say, God bless you and your family and thank you for your family's sacrifice
for our country. You have given the very most you can give for your country.
According to the LDS site, Charles Alfred Bryan married Ruth Ann Voshell 24 Jan 1871 in Talbot Maryland.
Your site says Ruth died about 1876 and there may have been two issue, Robert (1872) and William Henry. I'm
wondering if the Charles' age is on the Talbot Co marriage license or record? I think this may have been my
ggGrandfather's first marriage. Also, do you have any other information on this person (your web site made
reference to Rebecca C Voshell 1920 note)?
My ggGrandfather was a Charles Alfred Bryan who was found in Caroline Co MD in 1880 with an eight year old
son named Robert. Charles' father's name was Robert and he was from Delaware. Charles remarried in 1882
and moved to Wilmington DE and is buried in Silverbrook Cemetery there. Here is the 1880 census record:
1880 Caroline Co., p. 215C:
A J Palmer, f, widowed, w, 39, MD, Fa: MD, Mo: MD
Charles A Bryan, brother, married, 29, MD, Fa: MD, Mo: MD
Robert Bryan, nephew, 8, MD, Fa: MD, Mo: MD
Mary C. Bryan, daug, 13, MD, Fa: MD, Mo: MD
Willie Hubbard, other, 7, MD, Fa: MD, Mo: MD
Martha Bryan, SisterL, 25, MD, Fa: MD, Mo: MD
Charles Bryan, son, 8months, MD, Fa: MD, Mo: MD
All indications are that Charles was born in 1851. So if the age is on the Talbot Co marriage license I can
confirm whether this is likely my ggGrandfather.
Thank you,
David Bryan
