John A was placed under the guardianship Augustine H. He died around December of 1826?????. There is a Probate in the DE Archives for John Augustine mixed in with the microfilmed records of a John A Penington that died in 1821. That John A was a landowner near to Samuel Penington's land in Odessa and left several grandchildren as orphans. It would be very easy to mix up the two files if you do not know all the players and they all have the same last names.
Augustine H. Penington lost the guardianship of Samuel and John around June 23 1828 to a William H Crawford. Augustine had moved to Baltimore after his marriage in 1826; however, there were also many disputes in the probate records of Samuel Penington over the reconciliation of his estate by the half sister Margaret.
