Runk, "Mrs. Ford Died September 18, 1894, aged fifty-nine years."
Ruth V Stonesifer has a pin given to her by her grandmother Idella Slaughter Minner with the initials NFF on it. Her grandmother said it was her grandmother's pin when she gave it to Ruth in the late 1960's. There is still some confusion on the maiden name of Nancy --Williams or Fischer or both.
1894 September 19 Smyrna Times: " Death of Mrs. Matthew Ford. News reaches us this morning of the sudden death of Mrs. Matthew Ford, of near "Severson's." She was taken with a sever attack of colic Monday night, which resulted in her death yesterday afternoon. She was in apparently good health and was in town Saturday doing her shopping. Her death, therefore, was quite a shock to her many friends. Mrs. Ford was a woman of estimable character and was loved and admired by all she met. She has been and active church worker and was always interested in the up building of Christ's cause. In her home and the family circle is where her true character was shown, for she was a faithful wife and a true mother. She was in her 59th year and leaves a husband and four children to mourn her loss. Funeral services will be held at the house tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, interment at Glenwood cemetery."
