I am related to Joshua Pennington who lived in Cecilton, was a sea captain
before he died in 1859. His wife (Rachel Jane Moore) survived him and
remarried. Joshua is buried in the cemetery in Cecilton, about a mile or
so
before you would get to St. Stephens. One of his children was Margaret
Emma
who married my great grandfather (at St. Stephens in 1863), William Edward
Keyser, who was apprenticed to a blacksmith in Cecilton, and moved with his
wife to Chestertown/Fairlee. They are both buried in Old St. Pauls
Cemetery
near Failree (Kent County). Your materials do not mention this Joshua,
who,
at times, is confused with the Joshua you have on your chart (son of John
Ward Pennington), but he was born in 1815, and could not possibly be the
son
of John Ward.
My Joshua owned two boats, the Noah Richardson, and the General Andrew
Jackson, both of which reegularly sailed out of the port of Baltimore
(purchase records in Elkton County courthouse).
