1909/Feb 20 "On Wednesday evening last at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. H George, near McDonough, their daughter Harriet B was united in marriage to Mr William Lee Penington, of near town.
As the beautiful strains of the wedding march, rendered by Miss Lena Pleasanton floated through the rooms, which were trimmed with evergreen and flowers, the bridal party entered the room and the contracting parties took their places beneath a bell suspended from and arch of evergreen and white carnations, where the Rev. W. E Gundy of Princess Anne, MD. With an impressive and exceedingly pretty ceremony, spoke the words, which united the two hearts for the remainder of life's journey.
The Bride was attired in beautiful white satin gown trimmed with embroidered chiffon and pearls, and carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley. Miss Madeline Penington, sister of the groom was maid of honor, wore a handsome gown of pink mescaline with guilt trimmings, and carried a bouquet of pink carnations. Mr. Clarence V George, brother of the bride was best man and Messers Albert H Donovan and John W Voshell were the ushers. Masters Robert H George Jr. a brother of the bride and Avery B Donavan acted as ribbon bearers.
A fine array of Presents attest the esteem in which the young couple are held. and will serve as a life-long mementos of the happy event.
A reception followed the ceremony, when the large number of relatives and invited guests offered congratulations to the newly weeded couple, after which they were brought to Middletown where they took the 12:50 train for a trip South. On their return, they will reside at Boyd's Corner, where the groom will engage in farming." MT T

Mr Pennington has been acting manager for several weeks since the resignation of Mr Roland W Bates, and prior to that time he was employed by the Short and Walls Lumber company. This famous old hostelry is widely known and a favorite mecca for tourists. The new management anticipates the continued patronage and good will of the local and travelling public."
