"Three of his sons, Edward, James and Thomas migrated to North Carolina in the mid 1700's. His son, James migrated to Greene/Hancock County, Georgia. Edward died in North Carolina before the Revolutionary War. There is no record of an estate for Thomas in Granville County, NC, leading this writer to believe that he migrated to another place prior to his death"

He married November 20, 1716, Mary Mercer and had six children (See St. Stephen's Register):

5.James, born August 17, 1725, who married August 30, 1750. Mrs. Elizabeth Hollingsworth Johnston, widow of
Thomas Johnston, and removed to North Carolina, and finally settled in the State of Georgia, in Hancock
County, near the town of Powelton. Many of his descendants reside in Georgia.
6.William, born September 26, 1736, who was Church Warden of the Parish of Saint Mary Ann's in Cecil County,
1767, 1768, a Vestryman 1778 an a779. Styled Captain. He married, first Mary Carr, May 16, 1758 and
second, Mary Rock, March 1, 1771, and left children whose descendants are not recorded. (See Register St.
Mary Ann's Parish)
