[9764] He served in the Civil War, being captured at the battle of Monocacy Junction on July 4 1864, and was held a prisoner in both Libby and Danville Confederate prisons for a time. His army unit is not known. After the war he lived in Williamsport PA where he was a wholesale and retail grocery merchant
