[8847] Moved to what is now North Fayette twp Allegheny Co PA. There he bought a farm of about 150 acres for $3,300 in a tract called "The Cabins". And located about nine and a half miles southwest of Pittsburgh. He was very fond of horses and road wagons. With this in mind, he built a combined home-tavern of huge logs and roofed with oak shingles that were fastened with hand wrought nails. Located on the main road, it was said to be the first house between Pittsburgh and Steubenville, Ohio on which the roof was nailed. The tavern was known as the White Horse Inn, and for which he procured a sign picturing a white horse in a large wooden frame for $50. The Inn was a very popular hostelry, and continued for 3 years after his death by his widow who then close it. He also built a distillery, which operated until the inn closed. A Democrat he died of consumption aged 39 years . His descendants usually spelled the family name Stonecipher
