John Hyland, son of Richard Hyland, was mentioned as a freeholder at Waldron in the lay subsidy rolls of the 35th, 37th and 38th years of the reign of King Henry VIII ( 1544) and in that of the third of Edward VI. He married Agnes, who was buried in Waldron Church Dec. 20, 1588, who being then a widow. Their children were: John of whom further, Richard, of Waldron, will dated March 10, 1590-91, Peter of Waldron 1590, Anne who married Nicholas Fuller, Andrew of Headcorn, will dated Dec 26, 1625, Mildred, buried Oct 6, 1604.
