John Heyland, and early spelling of the name, was a freeholder of Branming, Yalding County Kent. Before 1500, Henry VIII (1522), he acquired land at Ticehurst in the Hundred of Shoswell, and died soon after latter date. He had two sons of whom there is recored: Richard, of whom further., and John of Branminge and Ticehurst.

[11876] He was born and raised near Westminster by a Samuel and Maria Shager, who farmed, had a daughter Amanda, and listed him as their nephew in the 1880 MD Census. His obituary stated that his parents were Isaiah and Mary Forney Stonesifer. They farmed in the Bachman Valley - Deep Run Area, had 8 children and when she died at the age of 80 years her obituary stated that she left 110 descendants
