He was married to Ann Porter about 1692. Ann Porter was born about 1669 in St. Stephen's Parish, Cecil Co., MD. She died after 1712. After Robert's death Ann apparently remarried in St. Stephen's Parrish on 9 Oct 1711 to Peter Nombers. Peter and Ann had at least 1 child, Mary Nombers, b. 1 July, 1712 in St. Stephens. Robert Pennington and Ann Porter had the following children:

+17 i. Henry Pennington (born on January 8, 1693/94).
18 ii. Rebecca Pennington was born on May 5, 1697 in St. Stephen's Parish, Cecil Co., MD. She was christened on August 1, 1697 in St. Stephen's Parish, Cecil Co., MD. She was buried on January 3, 1711/12 in St. Stephen's Parish, Cecil Co., MD. She died about December 1711 in St. Stephen's Parish, Cecil Co., MD.
+19 iii. Robert Pennington Jr. (born 21 Feb 1699/00).
+20 iv. Anne Pennington (born on July 11, 1704).
21 v. Rachel Pennington was born on July 31, 1707 in St. Stephen's Parish, Cecil

of Sassafrass River 1712 and of Sasafrass Ferry in will of William Hutchinson made 7/25/1740

"Robert whose will was probated 1709 named only son Henry. I believe that the ommission of his son Robert caused great unhappiness between these two brother, and was only rectivied shortly before Robert's death in 1736."
