[8811] Graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in 1946 with an A B degree secured and MA degree from Northwestern Univ. in 1947 and then a PHD degree from the Univ of PA.in 1953 From 1947 to 1963 he was associated with Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster as an associate professor of English, assistant to the dean, assistant to the president, and assistant to the provost. He has been associate professor of communication at the Annenberg School of Communications, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Prof of English at Drew University in NJ and since 1971 has been President of Monmouth College, NJ. He also served as moderator of the TV discussion series from 1954-60 served in the USAAF from 1943-46 is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and is the author of "WH Davies:A critical Biography" as well as numerous articles in professional journals.
