Age is guess (20 year) generation substraction by first born date of birth-- RAS
This is the standard Three Brothers story.
First part of 18th century three Voshell brothers Daniel, James, and William left France and came to America. They chose Kent county DE as their home and took up land there. Daniel elected to live in West Dover hundred. He had several children. He died on his farm and was buried there. He and his family were members of the M. E. church. Runk
DEED note
1762 Aug 23 Q 118 Robert Willcocks Esq. sells 100 a of Daniel's land of 1748 to Obediah Voshell. Turner note explains this Daniel the brother of OB SR has died and left the debt recovered in common pleas by Willcocks. This is a new theory to the sons of Augustine the Progenitor.
Time line information: The first record to feature the name of Daniel Voshel shows 19 April 1748 in a survey of 178 acres next to Obediah Voshell land. This land was involved in a dispute with the heirs of Hugh Durborow, being resurveyed 28 Nov 1748. The acreage was reduced to 100 acres. If you have to be at least 20 to own land, then this Daniel was born abt 1728-30. This age a lines him more as a brother to Obediah JR (b. about 1727) than a son. This Daniel could be the unnamed eighth child of Obediah SR and Sarah Goodwin. Obediah Sr.'s will is signed 25 June 1778 and probated 16 September 1778. It could be surmised that the survey was done as land transfer from father to son, since no other indenture has been found at the DE Archives.
He could have been much older.
