[8373] After finishing school in the town of Montoursville, he clerked for a year. In the autumn of 1886 he went to Selins Grove (now Selinsgrove) Missionary Institute, now Susquehanna University, where he graduated from the Classical Dept. in June of 1890 then from the Theological Dept in 1893. He became Pastor of the Lutheran church at Hartston where he was still serving in 1901.
