[1246] 1894/April 3 " Dr. Joseph Carrow attended the celebration of his grandfather's eighteenth birthday at the residence of his father, J. W. Carrow on Thursday of last week." MT T

1894/April 3 " About 10:30 o'clock Tuesday night when Dr. J. W. Carrow went to his office to retire he found the interior ablaze. Summoning help the fire was extinguished, but considerable damage was done however. Many volumes of the Doctor's library were destroyed, also his entire set of instruments, and the furniture was damaged to considerable extent. The orgin of the fire is a mistery." MT T

Clipping in Voshell Family Bible: 1923 Dec 22 Middletown Transcript
"Dr. Joseph Carrow. After an illness of ten days Dr. Joseph Carrow, one of the best-known practicing physicians of lower New Castle county died at his home in Odessa, at 10 o'clock Saturday night aged 57 years.
Dr. Carrow was stricken with pneumonia and the attending physicians realized from the beginning that his case was serious, and a specialist and two nurses assisted the local doctors in attending the stricken physician but he gradually grew weaker until death relieved him of his suffering.
Dr. Carrow was graduated from the Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 1892, and was one of the most prominent physicians in the lower part of this county. He was a member of the Delaware Medical Society and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Carrow is survived by his wife, who was Miss Rayner, of Camden, NJ, one son Rayner, two brothers John W. and Edgar Carrow, of St. Georges and five sisters, Mrs. David R. Rees of near Middletown; Mrs. Ollie Shahan of near Delaware City; and Florence, Jennie and Ida Carrow. Funeral services were held Tuesday at his late home at two o'clock interment in Old Drawyer's cemetery."
