[8055] PRA notes:
~4. Thomas Pennington was born about 1663 in Cecil Co., MD. He died after 1706 in MD. Thomas received "Sylvan's Folly" in 1699, which was originally surveyed as 100a on 1 Oct 1680. A Thomas Penington is on tax lists 1701/2/3/5/6 Spesutij Hundred, Baltimore Co., MD. PP11-1, pg 26. Thomas was a witness to the will of a John Closson, Cecil Co. MD. on 13 May 1696 (pp1-4. pg 13). It is assumed that his wife is a Closson.

He was married to Alie\Alce Closson about 1690 in MD. Alie\Alce Closson was born about 1670. Thomas Pennington and Alie\Alce Closson had the following children:

14 i. Matthias Pennington was born on October 9, 1692 in St. Stephen's Parish, Cecil Co., MD.
15 ii. Thomas Pennington was born on January 2, 1693/94 in St. Stephen's Parish, Cecil Co., MD. He died about 1757 in Cecil Co., MD.
16 iii. Isaac Pennington was christened on January 16, 1696/97 in St. Stephen's Parish, Cecil Co., MD. He was born on October 16, 1696 in St. Stephen's Parish, Cecil Co., MD.

Thomas received "Sulvan's Folly" in 1699 which was originally surveyed as 100 a on 10/1/1680
PP 29/2 1997 Sybil Hampton. "Thomas, father of Matthias, Thomas and Isaac, is probably the Thomas SR, who is buried on Hack's Point in CC in 1716. Support for this is found in a 1702 deed from Thomas Pennington to John Atkey.

Thomas Pennington, planter, and Ellie his wife to John Atkey for a competent sum of Tobacco for "Sylvan's Folly" on the North side of Sassafras River on Hack's Creek cont. 100 acres also 50 acres Buntington devised by the last will and testament of Brother John 6/5/1702. Recorded 6/5/1702 CC Co MD

Assuming the above Thomas, whose wife was Alice, was the Thomas Pennington in his brother John's will, that still leaves unanswered the identity of Thomas whose will was administered by John of North East in the year 1713, nor does it explain the relationship between North East John and this 1713 Thomas whose estate John Administered

Victor P Pennington notes at MD Historical Lib Baltimore Filing case A
owned parts of Buntington and Silvanes Folly, land on the north side of Sassafras Creek and land on Hacks Creek
In 1737 he conveyed Fredericktown lots to John Buck of Biddleford Devon Co England
[may be the son Thomas, Thomas SR died in 1716]
