An only child she was about 5 months old when her father died just past his 21 years of age
Moved to Germany twn. in Adams Cco., PA 1894
There they farmed, raised 4 children and were members of Redeemer's Reformed Church (now U.C.C.) in Littlestown.
Laura Earhart, interestingly, was married to a distant cousin. Her husband, William A Bankert, one of the 6 sons of Jabob Bankert, SR.- the only son of Christophel and Anna Eva Shriver Banckert who came to America from the German Palatinate on Aug 23 1728, and settled near what is now Littlestown.
Peter's brother, Jacob Bankert, Jr., had 2 sons who married 2 of the daughters of our immigrant John Daniel Stonesifer - Christina and Elizabeth. These 2 sisters were also sisters to Laura's own great, great Grandfather- John Daniel Stonesifer, Jr.
