[13868] The Worleys WERE connected to the Penningtons in America through the marriage of Ann Pennington, daughter of John Pennington the cordwainer of North East, brother of Abraham Pennington the Trader. Anne and her husband Nathan Worley received property from John, and she is also mentioned in other deeds and in John’s will, probated in 1739. One book by Mary Evans Bear. Descendants of John Worley, son of Anthony and Diana Worley Chicago: 1941, 96 pgs, mentions an Abraham Worley, sheriff of Bucks County in the 1600’s who afterward returned to Jamaica to live. There are other suggestions that the Delaware River Valley may hold clues for the ancestry of Abraham the Trader and John of North East. John of North East’s identity is ripped to shreds in the Peden-Wright work, and I will address this in another message.
